In a surprising turn of events, the Basildon Council announced a groundbreaking plan to connect Basildon directly to London via the world’s longest and largest trampoline. This innovative mode of transportation, dubbed “The Bounceway,” is expected to revolutionize commuting in the South East.
“The time it takes to commute between Basildon and London will now be just a matter of a few fun hops,” said the Mayor of Basildon, who demonstrated the first ceremonial bounce in a suit and bowler hat. “Not only will this be an efficient travel method, but it also doubles as a daily workout!”
Experts are already calling this the most ambitious project since the construction of the Basildon sign. The trampoline will be powered by eco-friendly kinetic energy, and each bounce will generate electricity to power local homes.
In preparation, local gyms are offering trampoline fitness classes to get residents “bounce-ready” for the big launch. The council has also assured that safety nets will be in place, and there will be dedicated “slow lanes” for leisurely bouncers and “express lanes” for the more experienced.
The project, set to be completed by April 1st, 2025, has already attracted global attention. The Mayor of London, in response to this project, joked, “We might have to consider installing giant slides as an alternative route to the trampoline. After all, variety is the spice of life!”
