Tim Hortons, the renowned Canadian fast food chain famous for its coffee, doughnuts, and wide variety of food items, is set to open a new drive-thru restaurant in Basildon, Essex. This move marks the chain’s expansion within Essex, adding to its existing locations in Harlow, Thurrock, and Braintree that opened earlier in the year.
The new Basildon location will be situated in the former Burger Brats building on Miles Gray Road, opposite the Asda supermarket in the Pipps Hill retail park. The plans for this new outlet include a comprehensive drive-thru service, alongside a 158 square meter indoor eating space. Notably, the site will also feature a small car park with 38 spaces, including three for disabled access, ensuring convenience for all visitors.
Tim Hortons has received the green light from Basildon Council for this new venture, with plans detailing the demolition of the existing restaurant unit and the erection of a new drive-thru coffee shop and restaurant. The application faced no objections and highlighted that the establishment aims to operate 24 hours a day, bringing a round-the-clock dining option to the area. The planning officer’s review confirmed that the development would not negatively impact nearby residential areas due to its significant distance from them, ensuring a harmonious addition to Basildon’s fast-food landscape.
This development is eagerly anticipated by both residents and food enthusiasts, offering a taste of Canadian cuisine and Tim Hortons’ fan favourites like Timbits, Iced Capps, freshly baked donuts, Tims Crispy Chicken Sandwich, beef burgers, hot dogs, and lattice fries. The arrival of Tim Hortons in Basildon is expected to add to the vibrant culinary scene in the area, joining other fast-food outlets in Pipps Hill and the nearby Festival Leisure Park, enhancing the variety of dining options available to the community.
